Ansarul Haque, 28 and Jahirul Islam, 23, two constables of Bangladesh police was set to reach home in the afternoon of Eid Day. They were preparing to share the happiness of Eid with their families. But instead of happiness, now a pall of gloom descended on the both constables families. A terrorist attack ruined all glee and hope of those families. Ansarul and Jahirul saved hundreds of Muslims devotees’ life by sacrificing their life.
On the eve of the Eid Jamaat in Sholakia, they were killed by gruesome militant attack. The both of the families were running with the earning of Ansarul and Jahirul and now the families become distraught by losing the main breadwinners.
Ansarul was the resident of Tiosri union of Madan upazilla in Netrokon district. Thousands of people of that area are still thronging to his home to express sympathy to Ansarul’s family.
“I have cooked rice for my son and I was waiting to eat the food with him. But Shimmers did not let live my son, Kafers killed my loving worth.” Rabaya Khatun, mother of Ansarul was lamenting intermittently.
In last Thursday morning, Rabaya Khatun was trying to talk with his son over mobile phone several times but Ansarul said “Mother, I am in duty, I will talk to you later.” But Ansarul did not get any chance to talk with his mother as he left the ground immediately after that short mobile conversation with his mother.
Mowlavi Siddikur Rahman, the father of Ansarul had died before some years. Ansarul has passed his SSC in 2003 and joined police in 2006. He got married in the same year. Ansarul was the main wage earner of his poor family.
Like Ansarul, Jahirul was also preparing to arrive at his home at the afternoon of Eid Day.
Jahirul sister Afroza said, I called him at 7:45am, he hurriedly said Bubu I am very busy with hard duty. I will start my journey to home after Eid Jamaat.
Jahirul hailed form Dewkhola union of Fulbaria upazila in Maymenshing district. He was the youngest of their four siblings. His father freedom fighter Abdul Majid is retired police personnel. After completing HSC, he joined in police in 2011.
