Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Annisul Huq on Sunday said they would not raise the holding tax in the 2016-17 fiscal year.
He came up the statement while announcing the DNCC budget for fiscal 2016-17 at a city hotel.
Quoting the mayor UNB said “Holding tax fixed for new and old houses and buildings won’t be increased, but some measures will be taken to bring equality in holding taxes”.
The DNCC proposed a Tk 2,083 crore budget for the 2016-17 fiscal year against Tk 1601 crore for FY2015-16.
Annisul said the DNCC managed to implement 63 percent of budget last year. “We’ll be able to implement 80percent to 83 percent of the budget in the fiscal year 2016-17.”
He said the DNCC set a target to collect Tk 948 crore as revenue in the new fiscal against Tk 557 crore in the 2015-2016 fiscal.
