Old Dhaka’s residents suffer for load shedding

Residents of Razar Dewry, Tantibazar, Shankharibazar and some parts of Kotoali Thana of Old Dhaka are suffering from power outage. In addition, dwellers of Narinda, Wari, KM Das Lane are also living with misery for power crisis. They are experiencing load shading twice where sometime four in a day. On the other hand, the use of electricity by illegal line has increased alarmingly to the adjacent areas.


Rashidul Haque, a Residents of Rajar Dewry said, we did not get rid of form the load shedding even in the holy month of Ramadan. It is very difficult to keep fasting in this scorching weather with acute load shedding.


Another resident of that area, Towhidur Rahman said we have to use IPS or other emergency light to avert suffering of load shedding. Now along with the water crisis, the power crisis added to increased the suffering in Panitola.


Ratan Ghosh of Panitola said, we have to keep emergency light in our shop to carry on our business. But sometime the emergency light could not cope with the problem when the outage lingers for more than two hours.


When contacted about the matter, an officer of Dhaka Power Distribution Company (DPDC) Md. Mamunul said, there has no load shedding in DPDC area. But power outage may occur sometime for breakdown.
