DU students block Shahbagh protesting Sujon killing

Students of Dhaka University blocked Shahbag intersection on Monday afternoon protesting the killing of their fellow student Sujon Mridha in police firing during the second phase UP election in Madaripur district.


The agitated students, including those of Marketing Department, took to the streets around 4 pm and staged demonstrations seeking justice for Sujon, UNB reports.


Their protests prgramme disrupted vehicular movement and created huge traffic congestion on roads around Shahbagh intersection.


Sjuon Mridha, a third year student of Marketing Department, was killed as police opened fire at him while he along with others were allegedly snatching a ballot box during vote counting in Sadar upazila of Madaripur district on Thursday.
