Science education can help building digital Bangladesh: Speakers

Highlighting the enormous aspects of expanding science education towards building digital Bangladesh speakers at a participatory discussion at Rajshahi today emphasized the need for science education for the high school students.
They mentioned that time has come to build science-based skilled and knowledge-based human resources to take the nation forward as the demand of information and communication technologies are gradually increasing.
The observations came in a district level seminar titled "Promoting Science Education in High School" at Hotel Warishan in Rajshahi city. Barendra Unnayan Prochesta (BUP) and Bangladesh Freedom Foundation jointly organized the seminar in association with the project of Development of Science
Education in Secondary School.
'Committed to Build Up a Science Oriented Generation' was the main theme of the meeting.
With BUP President Chwdhury Saidur Rahman in the chair, District Education Officer Rafiqul Islam
and former vice principal of Rajshahi Teachers Training College Abdus Samad Mondal addressed the
seminar as chief and special guests respectively.
Paba Upazila Secondary Education Officer Muktadir Ahmed, Editor of Daily Sonar Desh of Rajshahi
Akbarul Hassan Millat and BUP Director Foyzullah Chowdhury also spoke.
The speakers mentioned that the science teachers of the schools should play due role towards
substantial and sustainable boosting the number of science-minded students whom are very important
for flourishing the sector of information and communication technology.
They referred to various aspects of expanding science education towards doorsteps of both rural and
urban students and said there is no alternative to acquiring scientific knowledge to devise ways and
means on how to make the nation technologically advanced.
The students and other young generations should avail the scopes of gathering knowledge on
diversified directions of science and technologies and it's furthermore innovations.
During his concept paper presentation, Talim Uddin, Coordinator of the project, viewed there is no
way but to wide-ranging promotion of science and technology sector to take forward the nation
successfully. The young generation will sure take the nation one-step forward through improving the
technological area and all of us should create an enabling situation for them in this regard.
He also put forward a set of recommendations including subject-wise teachers recruitment on how to
substantial and sustainable expansion of science education.
