BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has joined the rally in front of the party’s Nayapaltan central office in the capital.
The party leaders and activists of Dhaka city unit led by Standing Committee member Goyeshwar Chandra Roy started the rally at 2:00pm.
The BNP chief went to the rally venue around 2:50pm to mark the second anniversary of the January 5, 2014 national elections which the party dubs Democracy Killing Day.
This will also be her first public rally in front of the party’s Nayapaltan central office in four years.
Earlier last night, Khaleda Zia sat with her party’s senior members at her Gulshan office to discuss the issues she would address in her speech today.
On Monday, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police granted conditional permission to the BNP to hold the rally.
