Jamaat ameer calls for legal action over Radda clinic attack

Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer and Leader of the Opposition Dr Shafiqur Rahman on Thursday called for legal action and strict punishment against those responsible for the attack on Radda MCH-FP Centre in the capital’s Mirpur.

In a post on his verified Facebook page, he said the government and the ruling party had finally been compelled to take organisational action over the incident.

“Organisational action alone is not enough for such a serious wrongdoing,” he said, calling for legal action against those responsible and strict punishment.

Shafiqur said people wanted to see visible and credible legal action against the perpetrators.

He also called on the government to take responsibility for sustainably rebuilding the health centre, which was damaged and looted.
