Jatiya Party congratulates newly elected president Mirza Fakhrul

The Jatiya Party has extended its heartfelt greetings and congratulations to Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on his election as the 23rd president of Bangladesh.

In a joint statement issued on Thursday by JaPa Chairman Anisul Islam Mahmud and Secretary General ABM Ruhul Amin Howlader, they said Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir had played an important role throughout his long political career on issues of democracy, people’s rights and political tolerance.

They said that, by assuming the country’s highest constitutional office, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir would play an important role in promoting unity, harmony and mutual trust among people of different political views and from all walks of life.

The Jatiya Party leaders expressed hope that, as president, Mirza Fakhrul would play a neutral and responsible role in upholding the dignity of the constitution, strengthening democratic institutions, and ensuring the rights and dignity of all citizens.
