BNP’s Greater China chapter on Saturday organised a prayer
session to seek peace and comfort for the departed soul of former prime
minister Khaleda Zia.
The event marked the 82nd birth anniversary of Khaleda,
former chief of the ruling BNP.
During the discussion, party leaders and activists spoke
about the life and contributions of the late Begum Khaleda Zia.
The programme was moderated by SM Al-Amin, a leader of the
BNP’s Greater China chapter and former general secretary of Zia Hall unit of
Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal at Rajshahi University. Former student
leader and BNP leader in China Md Wali Ullah chaired the programme.
Al-Amin said, “The leader of the nation is no longer among
us, but her philosophy of life and ideals of struggle will guide us in the days
ahead. Her work teaches us to remain uncompromising for our country and
inspires us with patriotism. The way she turned imprisonment and physical
illness into political strength, her indomitable mindset continues to inspire
us.”
BNP leader Wali Ullah said, “The central principle of Begum
Zia’s politics was the welfare of the people. She always said that politics is
not only about power; it is a means of serving the people. We want to uphold
this message in every aspect of our lives. Her departure has left a void, but
her teachings have become our guide for the struggles ahead.”
Among others, BNP Greater China chapter leaders Monirul
Islam Kabir, Md Roman, Siam Uddin, Russell Ahmed, Abdus Salam Sagar, Abir
Ahmed, Akidul Islam and Redwan Hossain also spoke at the event.
A prayer session was held after the discussion meeting. More than a hundred leaders and activists of the Greater China BNP chapter from different cities across China joined the programme virtually.
