Zaima Rahman, daughter of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, has urged the countrymen to visit the July Uprising Memorial Museum, and “reflect deeply ” on the history it embodies.
In a Facebook post Zaima wrote:
“History cannot simply be neatly arranged and stored in a
drawer; it remains alive within us. I call on everyone to, if possible, visit
the July Uprising Memorial Museum. Take the time to absorb the experience,
understand it, and reflect on it deeply. As a Bangladeshi, this may be one of
your most important civic responsibilities.”
Zaima ended the post with a quote from South African
anti-apartheid leader Nelson Mandela: "True reconciliation does not come
easily, but it becomes possible when we collectively have the courage to confront
the truth of our history."
