BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman is scheduled to visit Sirajganj and Tangail districts today as part of his nationwide election campaign.
Tarique will address an election rally at the
BSCIC Industrial Park in Paikpara of Sirajganj Sadar upazila at around 2pm while
returning to Dhaka from Rangpur. From the stage, he will introduce BNP
candidates contesting all parliamentary constituencies in Sirajganj and Pabna
districts.
The programme has generated enthusiasm among
party leaders and activists, with a large stage set up for the rally. BNP
Standing Committee member and Sirajganj-2 candidate Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku,
along with senior administrative officials, have already visited the rally
venue.
Saidur Rahman Bachchu, chief coordinator of
the election management committee for Sirajganj’s six constituencies and
general secretary of the district BNP, said extensive preparations had been
taken to ensure the success of the rally.
“There is a festive atmosphere among leaders
and activists surrounding Tarique Rahman’s visit after a long time,” he said.
Following the Sirajganj rally, Tarique will
proceed to Tangail. At around 4pm, he is scheduled to address another public
rally as the chief guest at an open field adjacent to the Darun–Charjana bypass
on the Jamuna Bridge–Tangail–Dhaka highway.
