Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim, Pir Saheb Charmonai and ameer of Islami Andolan Bangladesh, has said that attempts by a group to isolate his party through a web of conspiracies have failed, leaving the conspirators themselves politically isolated.
He made the remarks on Saturday while addressing
election rallies in Tongibari Bazar and Chanbari Bazar areas in Munshiganj,
organised in support of Islami Andolan Bangladesh–nominated candidates for the
Munshiganj-1 and Munshiganj-2 constituencies.
“We have been engaged in welfare-oriented politics
since 1987 without compromising our principles for greed or personal gain,”
Rezaul said.
“However, some people are holding secret meetings
with India and the United States. Such activities will bring no benefit. This
state will be built by the people of this country, not by anyone else,” he
added.
He urged voters to cast their ballots for the party’s electoral symbol, the hand fan, saying it represents the path to public welfare, the establishment of Islamic values, and meeting popular aspirations.
