Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Deepal has officially launched its latest plug-in hybrid SUV, the Deepal S05, in Bangladesh through its exclusive distributor, DHS Autos.

The new model was unveiled at a grand launch ceremony held on Saturday at the Deepal Bangladesh showroom in Rangs Babylonia, Tejgaon Industrial Area, Dhaka.

With its sleek design, advanced hybrid technology, and premium features, the Deepal S05 is set to redefine the electric vehicle experience in Bangladesh.

The car is powered by a PHEV engine (4-cylinder, 16-valve VVT) paired with an electric motor producing 160/218 HP and 320 Nm torque.

Equipped with a 27.28 kWh battery, it offers an impressive driving range of up to 1,234 kilometres on a full tank and full charge.

Designed for comfort, safety, and innovation, the S05 features an intelligent noise-free cabin, Advanced Driver-Assistance System (ADAS), 540° camera view, and Remote Straight In & Out technology.

Inside, the car offers synthetic leather seats, a 15.4-inch touchscreen display, a 14-speaker premium sound system, and a panoramic glass roof with an electric sunshade.

Customers can choose from five premium colours: Moonlight White, Deep Space Black, Andromeda Blue, Mercury Silver, and Ganymede Gray.

Deepal has also expanded its EV charging network to 22 locations across Bangladesh.

Each purchase of the S05 includes free home charger installation, an 8-year warranty on the EV motor and battery, a 5-year general warranty and 3 years of free service.

The launch event was attended by Guan Xin, vice president of Changan Southeast Asia; Du Kaijian, sales manager, Southeast Asia, Changan; Shoeb Ahmed, divisional director, DHS Autos; Shihab Ahmed, COO, DHS Autos; and Alfat Hossain Khan, head of sales, DHS Autos and among others.

Speaking at the event, Shoeb Ahmed said, “We are confident that the Deepal S05 will make a strong impression in Bangladesh’s new energy vehicle market. It blends technology, performance, and premium comfort for young, tech-savvy customers.”

Du Kaijian added, “The S05 launch strengthens Changan’s footprint in Bangladesh’s EV market. We are offering it at an affordable price without compromising quality or performance.”

The Deepal S05 is now available in Dhaka and Chattogram at a retail price of Tk52 lakh (excluding registration).
