The Savar upazila unit of Bashundhara Shuvosangho presented a UPS and essential computer accessories to Md Dulal Khan on Tuesday to support his livelihood as he battles a congenital spinal disorder.
The assistance was handed over at the Madrasah of the Holy Quran in Bank Colony, Savar. Md Habibur Rahman, president of the Shuvosangho Savar unit and principal of Savar Shishu Academy School, presided over the programme, conducted by General Secretary Md Shafiqul Islam Pintu. Obaydur Rahman Ovi, chief adviser to the Savar unit and president of Savar Traders’ Welfare Association, attended as chief guest and handed over the items to Dulal Khan.
Dulal Khan, who lives in the WAPDA Road area with his wife and son, has been unable to walk normally due to congenital spinal complications. Despite his physical limitations, he works as his family’s sole breadwinner, running a home-based computer composing business to support them.
Facing operational difficulties during power cuts, Dulal recently appealed to Shuvosangho for a UPS and auxiliary computer equipment. In response, the organisation arranged the items.
“This assistance will immensely benefit me. Working on the computer is my family’s sole means of survival. The UPS will ensure uninterrupted work," Dulal said.
Organising Secretary Md Jakir Hossain, Women Affairs Secretary Ayesha Akhter Nupur, Women and Children Affairs Secretary Ranu Sultana, Finance Secretary Razia Jasmin Bob, Relief and Disaster Management Secretary Abdul Gani, Assistant Sports Secretary Md Sheikh Zulhas, among others, were present.
