Mosquito nets distributed for dengue prevention in Patiya

Bashundhara Shuvosangho on Saturday distributed 10 mosquito nets to Patiya Upazila Health Complex in Chattogram to prevent the spread of dengue.
The initiative aims to build awareness about the mosquito-borne disease.
Shuvosangho Patiya unit Adviser Abul Kashem, members Md Abdur Rahim Khandakar and Mahmudul Hasan, Chattogram unit President SMA Jewel, and Patiya unit General Secretary Md Raiyan attended the programme.
Speakers said that besides medical treatment, personal vigilance, clean surroundings and elimination of Aedes breeding grounds are essential for dengue prevention, stressing that protecting patients with nets and maintaining sanitary wards are crucial to preventing its spread.
Kashem said that standing by people during crises is the hallmark of humanity. "Alongside helping the disadvantaged, raising public health awareness is a duty of voluntary organisations,” he added.
Speakers urged residents to remove stagnant water and consult physicians if they develop fever or related symptoms.
