100 teachers to be honoured on World Teachers’ Day

Prime Minister’s Education Adviser Dr Mahdi Amin said on Monday that 100 teachers from different levels of education would receive the national honour for distinguished teachers this year, compared with 12 in previous years.
The selected teachers will be honoured at a programme on 5 October marking World Teachers’ Day.
He made the remarks at a meeting of the national steering committee for World Teachers’ Day celebrations at the Education Ministry’s conference room.
He said teachers from primary to university levels would be brought under the recognition programme.
Besides primary school teachers, teachers from general, technical and madrasa streams at the secondary level will also be considered for the honour. 
Teachers from colleges and universities will also be included, while university-level selections will cover specialised fields including medicine, agriculture, engineering and science.
