Content creator Ashraful Alam, alias Hero Alom, was released hours after his arrest in a case filed by his ex-wife Riya Moni on Saturday.

He was arrested at around 1:30pm on Saturday (15 Nov) in the Hatirjheel area of the capital.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rakibul Hasan passed the order in the afternoon. His lawyer, Shanta Saksina, confirmed the bail.

Earlier, he was arrested from his office at Ulon, Hatirjheel, Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Tejgaon Division Deputy Commissioner Ibn Mizan said.

According to the case, following ongoing marital disputes, Alom divorced Riya Moni and forcibly expelled her from their home. He later called her to a residence in Hatirjheel on 21 June, claiming it was to settle their issues.
