Assailants shot a local leader of the Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Jubo Dal to death in Dhaka’s Pallabi area on Monday evening.

The victim, Golam Kibria, was the member secretary of Pallabi unit Jubo Dal.

According to CCTV footage obtained by the Daily Sun, three helmet-wearing men stormed into a hardware and sanitary shop just seconds after Kibria entered there. 

They fired several rounds at him indiscriminately before fleeing the scene.

Dhaka city north unit Convener Aminul Haque said Kibria was taken to Suhrawardy hospital in critical condition where on-duty physicians declared him dead.

Pallabi police station Officer-in-Charge Mofizur Rahman said the police are investigating the murder.
