Security measures have been tightened across several parts of the country—including Dhaka—ahead of Monday’s (17 November) verdict in the case filed against ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and two others on charges of crimes against humanity.
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members have already been deployed to maintain overall security and law-and-order in four districts- Dhaka, Gopalganj, Faridpur, and Madaripur.
The information was confirmed on Sunday by Shariful Islam, public relations officer at the BGB headquarters.
He said BGB personnel are working to ensure security in the capital as well as in Gopalganj, Faridpur, and Madaripur, in coordination with other law-enforcement agencies.
