Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said that whatever verdict the tribunal delivers against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday will be implemented in full.
He added that law enforcement agencies are fully prepared to prevent any unrest surrounding the judgment.
He made the remarks while speaking to journalists on Sunday at 2pm, following a meeting with top officials of law enforcement agencies and the local administration at the Barishal Police Lines.
Responding to questions from reporters, the home adviser said the field administration has been reorganised ahead of the upcoming national election.
“The current law and order situation is neither very good nor very bad—rather, it is at a moderate level,” he noted. “Even then, strict instructions have been issued to ensure that no violence or untoward incidents occur centering the election.”
Emphasising that the entire country is now election-focused, the adviser called for cooperation from all citizens to maintain stability.
