In an effort to maintain peace, order and security on campus, Jahangirnagar University (JU) has imposed a ban on all types of events after 10pm.

The restriction will remain in force until further notice, the university authorities announced on Saturday.

According to a statement issued by the university’s Public Relations Office, the decision follows a resolution adopted at a recent Syndicate meeting.

The notice states that no event of any kind may take place on campus after 10pm. If any programme is found running beyond the stipulated time, action will be taken against the organisers under existing university regulations and state laws.

The university also instructed that noise levels during events must be kept within acceptable limits.

The Public Relations Office urged all concerned to cooperate with the new directive.
