Prime Minister’s Political Adviser Zahir Uddin Swapon has warned that the ousted fascist force and the covert forces in the country might join hands to fuel internal rivalries within the BNP ahead of the local government elections.
He said the two groups were conspiring to create disorder in the country and urged party leaders and activists to remain vigilant and avoid falling into any trap of provocation.
The adviser was speaking at a views-exchange meeting with BNP leaders and activists in his constituency, covering the upazilas of Gouranadi and Agailjhara in Barishal.
Swapon said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman had informed the nation about intelligence reports warning of attempts to create disorder in the country.
He said the prime minister had also mentioned attempts to provoke labour unrest in factories across the country.
Urging party leaders and activists to remain alert, the adviser said they must maintain strong unity to ensure that no one could weaken the party or obstruct development activities ahead of the local government elections.
