Three ‘members’ of bike theft gang held in Bashundhara area

Three suspected members of an organised motorcycle theft gang were detained by the Bashundhara security team in the Bashundhara Residential Area in Dhaka on Tuesday morning.
The incident took place around 8:30am when a suspicious private car, bearing Dhaka Metro-Ga-23-6780, entered the residential area through Gate-4.
As the security team had previously received an image of the vehicle, the security guard on duty identified it immediately. The security team then followed the car and managed to detain the suspected members of the gang near Janakantha Intersection.
The detainees were identified as Md Sujon Mia, 28, son of Md Sadhu Mia; Md Al-Amin, 31, son of Md Zahir; and Md Zahid, 36, son of Md Liaquat.
During preliminary investigation, the security team learned that the gang was allegedly involved in motorcycle thefts from different blocks of the Bashundhara Residential Area, including A, I and L blocks, as well as other areas.
The detainees and the recovered evidence were handed over to Vatara police station for necessary legal action. Owners of motorcycles reportedly stolen from the area also went to the police station to pursue legal proceedings.
