SK Sur’s wife jailed in ACC case

A Dhaka court on Tuesday sentenced Suparna Sur Chowdhury, wife of former Bangladesh Bank deputy governor Sitangshu Kumar Sur (SK Sur), to two years in jail for failing to submit a wealth statement to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
Dhaka Special Judge Court-10 Judge Md Robiul Islam also fined her Tk1 lakh, in default of which she will serve an additional three months in jail, said ACC prosecutor Shah Md Nazmus Sakib.
Suparna was produced before the court from jail and sent back after the verdict with a conviction warrant.
