The International Crimes Tribunal-2 (ICT-2) has begun delivering its verdict in the crimes against humanity case against Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JASAD) president and former minister Hasanul Haq Inu, who is accused of involvement in crimes committed during the July 2024 mass uprising.
The tribunal began reading out the judgment a few minutes before 2:00pm on Tuesday.
The verdict is being delivered by a three-member bench of International Crimes Tribunal-2, headed by Justice Nazrul Islam Chowdhury. The other members of the tribunal are Justice Md. Manjurul Bashid and Justice Nur Mohammad Shahriar Kabir.
Earlier at around 1:45pm, Hasanul Haq Inu was brought from the holding cell to the courtroom. As he was escorted into the courtroom, he reportedly told police officers not to hold his hands. The officers replied that they were not holding him.
Dressed in a white panjabi and pyjamas with brown shoes, Inu took his seat in the dock, sitting with one leg crossed over the other as the tribunal began reading out the verdict.
