Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has highlighted the longstanding ties between Malaysia and Kerala, saying the relationship continues to grow through trade, education, community links and cultural exchanges.
In a Facebook post on Monday (14 September), Anwar said he recently received Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar for a courtesy visit, during which they discussed ways to further strengthen the relationship.
“Our conversation quickly touched on the longstanding Malaysia-Kerala relationship, which continues to be strengthened through trade, education, community links and cultural exchanges that foster stronger people-to-people connections,” he said.
They also discussed opportunities to expand cooperation in high-value sectors, particularly the digital economy, healthcare, tourism and education, the Malaysian prime minister said.
Anwar said such cooperation could further deepen the close relationship between Malaysia and Kerala while bringing mutual benefits.
