Member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly Suvendu Adhikari is set take oath as the Chief Minister of West Bengal in a future BJP government formation, with a large-scale ceremony reportedly planned at Kolkata’s Brigade Parade Ground.
Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, could attend the event.
According to the reports, preparations were being made at the Brigade Ground for a high-profile oath-taking ceremony, while heightened security arrangements were allegedly observed in parts of Kolkata. It was also claimed that BJP supporters gathered at major railway stations such as Howrah and Sealdah, heading towards the venue.
Suvendu Adhikari played a key role in the BJP’s West Bengal campaign and gained national attention after defeating former chief minister Mamata Banerjee in the Bhabanipur constituency during the assembly elections.
However, there has been no official confirmation from the Election Commission of India, the Government of West Bengal, or the BJP regarding any change in the state government or such a swearing-in ceremony.
Authorities have not issued any verified statement supporting these claims, and the situation remains unconfirmed at the time of reporting.
