Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said India will never bow to any form of terror, marking the first anniversary of the Pahalgam attack.
Militants from Lashkar-e-Taiba carried out the attack in Jammu and Kashmir last year, killing 26 people, most of them tourists from across India.
In a post on X, Modi remembered the victims and said the nation will not forget their lives. He also expressed solidarity with the bereaved families.
“As a nation, we stand united in grief and resolve. India will never bow to any form of terror. The heinous designs of terrorists will never succeed,” he said.
Following the attack, Indian forces launched Operation Sindoor, targeting what officials described as militant infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
Officials said the operation aimed to dismantle networks linked to the attack and reinforce India’s stance against cross-border terrorism.
