Saudi Grand Mosque introduces child safety bracelets for Umrah and Hajj visitors

The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has introduced a child safety initiative at the Grand Mosque in Saudi Arabia's Makkah, by issuing identification bracelets for children upon arrival.

The bracelets carry guardians’ contact details, enabling quick identification and reunification if a child becomes lost or separated. The measure is part of an integrated system aimed at enhancing visitor safety and assisting staff in managing emergencies efficiently within the Grand Mosque complex and its courtyards.

The identification bracelets are available at key entry points, including King Abdulaziz Gate and King Fahd Gate (Gate No. 79), where dedicated personnel assist guardians in registering their contact information smoothly.

Authorities have encouraged all guardians to make use of the service, particularly during peak periods such as the Umrah season and the Hajj pilgrimage, when visitor numbers at the Grand Mosque rise significantly.

The initiative is intended to provide peace of mind for parents and guardians while reinforcing high standards of child safety at one of the world’s most important religious sites.
