Former Bangladesh cricket team manager and respected sports administrator Lt Col Abdul Latif Khan (Retd.) passed away on Wednesday afternoon at Dhaka’s Combined Military Hospital (CMH).
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) expressed its deepest condolences at his passing, extending heartfelt sympathies to his family and loved ones during what it described as “a time of profound sorrow”.

Lt Col Latif served the BCB in several important capacities over the years. He was a former manager of the Bangladesh national cricket team and also chaired the Board’s Game Development Committee, a crucial role during a formative period for the sport in the country. In 2007, he was a member of the BCB’s Interim Committee and later served as an executive committee member of the Board.
Beyond cricket, Lt Col Latif was the acting president of the Bangladesh Boxing Federation and previously held the post of Director General of Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishthan (BKSP), contributing significantly to the broader development of sports in Bangladesh.
His namaz-e-janaza will be held on Friday after Jummah prayers at Baridhara Jame Mosque (Lane 4), Baridhara, Dhaka. He will be laid to rest at the Military Graveyard.
