Campus rivalry goes online for ABG University Cup

University rivalries are heating up online ahead of the inaugural ABG University Cup 2026, with a nationwide ‘Fan Cup’ voting contest giving supporters the chance to prove whose institution has the most passionate fanbase.

Fans can vote for their universities through the official portal (uni-cup.abgsportscity.com) until 5:00pm on 13 November. Each supporter can cast one vote by submitting an email address, while a live leaderboard tracks the universities’ tallies and percentage shares.

The tournament, launched by Anvir Bashundhara Group (ABG) Chairman Sayem Sobhan Anvir, begins on 25 October at Anvir Cricket Stadium in ABG Sports City. Cricket and football competitions will run under floodlights.

Ten of the country's top private universities are fielding 20 teams across the two disciplines: American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), North South University (NSU), BRAC University, Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB), Sonargaon University, United International University (UIU), Fareast International University, The International University of Scholars, and Daffodil International University (DIU).

Ten private universities will field 20 teams across the two sports, with champions in each discipline receiving Tk10 lakh and runners-up Tk5 lakh.
