Rizwan shines with bat and ball for Rangpur

Chowdhury Md Rizwan delivered an impressive all-round performance to put Rangpur Division in a commanding position today against Dhaka Division in the second match of the 28th National Cricket League (NCL).

The pace-bowling all-rounder top-scored with a patient 75 off 156 balls, hitting eight fours to help Rangpur post 340 in their first innings.

Rizwan then made an immediate impact with the ball, removing Anisul Islam Emon and Aminul Islam to finish with 2-25 from six overs as Dhaka stumbled to 120-6 at stumps on the second day, still trailing by 220 runs.

His efforts earned praise from Rangpur coach Nazmul Hossain, who believes the youngster has the potential to develop into Bangladesh’s next pace-bowling all-rounder.

“Rizwan has the ability to become a quality pace-bowling all-rounder for Bangladesh. He is improving with every game and, if he continues to work hard and develop his skills, I believe he can go a long way,” Nazmul said.

The former Bangladesh Under-19 cricketer has been regarded as one of the country's promising pace-bowling all-rounders and further strengthened that reputation with another influential display for Rangpur.
