Bangladesh ended their 20th Asian Games campaign on a high as the men’s hockey team beat Thailand 3-0 to secure seventh place, providing a bright finish to a day of mixed fortunes.
Roman Sarkar gave Bangladesh an early lead with a field goal in the third minute before Amirul Islam doubled the advantage from a penalty corner in the 27th minute.
Ashraful Islam completed the scoring in the 53rd minute, converting a penalty stroke as Peter Gerhard’s side kept Thailand at bay to seal a clean sheet.
In golf, Siddikur Rahman finished strongly with a 69 in the final round at Kasugai Country Club’s East Course. He finished tied for 27th with 282, six under par.
