Former champions Mohammedan will launch their Bangladesh Football League (BFL) campaign this Friday against Fakirerpool Young Men's Club at the newly introduced Chandpur District Stadium.
Because the 13-team format leaves one club resting each week, the Black and Whites sat out the opening round. Friday’s 3:00 pm kick-off marks a fresh start for Mohammedan. The fixture is drawing extra attention as it serves as the first assignment for their newly appointed Argentine-born Spanish coach, Fernando Valera.
Two other matches will also kick off simultaneously at 3:00pm. At the Shaheed Bir Shreshtha Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj, Chittagong City FC face Bangladesh Police. Chittagong are eager to bounce back from a heavy opening-day defeat, while Police aim to build on their winning start.
Meanwhile, Brothers Union take on PWD Sports Club in Manikganj. With Brothers suffering a loss in the first round and PWD securing just one point, both sides are desperate for a victory to boost their tally in this crucial second round of league action.
