Bangladesh captain Litton Das has hinted at a bowling-heavy combination for their Asian Games men's cricket quarter-final against Malaysia on Tuesday, saying the conditions in Japan appear to favour the bowlers.

Rain has hampered Bangladesh's preparations since their arrival, with the team forced to train on a football field on Monday due to wet conditions. Despite the disruption, Litton said the Tigers are ready for their opening match and could field five specialist bowlers.

"I think the wicket favours the bowlers. We will try to play the best bowlers we have and maintain the overall team combination , five bowlers and six batsmen," Litton told reporters after training.

The possibility of more rain remains a concern after two matches were abandoned on Monday. If Bangladesh's match is washed out, they will progress directly to the semi-finals against Pakistan.

However, Litton insisted the team are focused solely on beating Malaysia rather than thinking ahead.

"Tomorrow's match is very important. Our first target is to reach the final. Whether we win gold is a matter for later," he said.

Bangladesh enter the tournament as one of the favourites alongside India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, with Litton urging his side to take the competition one match at a time in their pursuit of a medal.
