Misbah-ul-Haq on Tuesday resigned from Pakistan's national selection committee following a dramatic squad overhaul during the ongoing England tour.
The former captain stepped down just hours after the PCB axed seven players and two coaches following a crushing 194-run defeat at Lord's that left Pakistan 2-0 down in the three-match series.
Misbah also quit his batting consultant role at the National Cricket Academy.
The PCB had served notice to selectors demanding written explanations for picking Mohammad Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq for the tour. The board removed both players alongside five others, whilst sacking head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul.
Five uncapped players were summoned as replacements ahead of the third Test at Edgbaston.
Misbah, Pakistan's most successful Test captain, has held various PCB roles since retiring in 2017, including head coach and chief selector.
