Bashundhara Kings have finally been cleared of all FIFA sanctions, allowing the six-time Bangladesh Premier League champions to participate in the upcoming transfer window without restrictions.
The domestic giants had been placed under 14 FIFA bans, with 11 cases resolved earlier. The remaining three sanctions were lifted on Friday night, according to FIFA’s official website.
The development comes as a major boost for Kings ahead of the new season, with the club now able to complete player registrations and strengthen their squad during the ongoing transfer window.
The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has extended the deadline for club licensing until 1 September, while the transfer window will remain open until 3 September. As a result, Kings will face no further obstacles in completing their licensing process or transfer activities.
Earlier, Abahani also cleared their FIFA ban and entered the transfer market. The Sky Blues have already signed four foreign players, including a footballer who represented Nigeria at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, while retaining key players such as Sheikh Morsalin, Al Amin and Mirajul Islam.
Mohammedan Sporting Club have also made impressive preparations for the new campaign, raising expectations of a highly competitive league season.
However, last season’s relegated side Fakirerpool Young Men’s Club are yet to resolve one remaining FIFA sanction. If all issues are settled by 1 September, the 2026-27 season could feature a 13-team league.
