Bangladesh begin their national football training camp on Thursday ahead of the inaugural FIFA ASEAN Cup, though head coach Thomas Dooley faces uncertainty after several players failed to answer call-ups.
The 28-man squad, unchanged from June’s clash against San Marino, are preparing for the tournament in Jakarta from 24 September to 4 October. Bangladesh will face hosts Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore before hosting the SAFF Championship in November.
"I tried to contact some players, but they are not answering," Dooley said. "I will not drive around to find you. If you want to play for the country, that is great. If not, it is up to you."
Dooley wants an exclusive first session to speak with players and help them adapt, supported by assistant coaches, a fitness trainer, and an extra physiotherapist.
"We are doing everything possible because we want to succeed," Dooley added.
