Bangladesh received a boost ahead of the opening Test against Australia as Litton Kumer Das is declared fit and available for the first Test, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam has successfully passed his fitness test and has also been declared fit.
Shoriful will fly to Australia on Wednesday night to join the Test squad and begin preparations for the second Test. He had been recovering from a hamstring injury and was unavailable for the opening match.
The second Test is scheduled to be played in Mackay from August 22.
Jaker Ali Anik and Musfik Hasan, meanwhile, will return to Bangladesh to begin preparations for the Bangladesh A team’s upcoming tour of South Africa.
The latest developments mean Bangladesh will have Litton available for the opening Test, while Shoriful could strengthen their pace attack for the second match.
