Birmingham Phoenix, on Thursday, confirmed that Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman is set to miss the entire season of The Hundred that started on 21 July.
They made the announcement on a Facebook post.
Mustafizur, who was a part of the national setup for the One Day International series against Zimbabwe, had sustained a hamstring injury in the first ODI before bowling six overs.
He went on to miss the other two ODIs.
Later on, the medical team, upon assessing, confirmed that his recovery period was about to take around four weeks, which later resulted in him getting replaced by Taskin Ahmed for the following T20 series.
The “cutter-master” was, however, still optimistic about playing in The Hundred, where he was scheduled to miss only the opening few matches due to injury.
However, Birmingham confirmed his unavailability for the whole season.
The replacement is yet to be confirmed.
Previously, the left-arm pacer was bought by Birmingham for base price 100,000 pounds in the auction that was held in March this year.
