Ishtiaque Sadeque appointed Bangladesh Hockey Federation General Secretary

The National Sports Council (NSC) has dissolved the existing ad hoc committee of the Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) and appointed a new 29-member ad hoc committee, naming T Sports Chief Executive Officer Ishtiaque Sadeque as the federation's General Secretary.

The information was announced in a notification signed by NSC Executive Director Mohammad Daulatuzzaman Khan on Saturday.

According to the notification, the previous ad hoc committee was dissolved under Section 21 of the National Sports Council Act, 2018 (Amended 2026) after it failed to hold elections in accordance with the federation's constitution and hand over responsibilities to an elected committee.

Under the new arrangement, Chief of air staff of the Bangladesh Air Force Air-Chief-Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan will serve as president of the federation by virtue of his office.

The newly appointed vice-presidents are former national hockey player Sazed A. Adel, Cotton Group Chairman and Usha Krira Chakra official Shahin Mahmud, Group Captain (Retd) Mohammad Alamgir, Elite Paint Managing Director Selim Ahmed and Bangladesh Air Force Air Commodore Mohammad Rafiul Haque.

The NSC said the ad hoc committee, constituted under Section 14(3) of the National Sports Council Act, must complete the federation's election within three months of the order and hand over charge to the newly elected committee.
