Bangladesh fast bowler Taskin Ahmed's participation in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) has been delayed after the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) recalled him for the upcoming three-match T20 International series against Zimbabwe following Mustafizur Rahman's injury.

Taskin was initially granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC), along with Litton Das, to miss the Zimbabwe T20Is and play the entire LPL.

However, the BCB revised its plans after Mustafizur was ruled out of the remainder of the Zimbabwe tour with a right hamstring injury.

BCB chief selector Habibul Bashar Sumon said that the decision was taken because of the team's need for an experienced pace bowler.

"We allowed Taskin and Litton to skip the Zimbabwe T20Is as they had been given NOCs to play the LPL from the beginning. But after Mustafizur's injury, we included Taskin in the T20I squad. He will join the LPL after completing the T20Is against Zimbabwe," Bashar told Daily Sun on Friday.

The BCB announced on Friday that Taskin would replace Mustafizur in the T20I squad, while all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin has been drafted into the One Day International squad for Saturday's third and final match in Harare.

Taskin is set to represent Jaffna Kings in the LPL alongside Shakib Al Hasan.

Litton and Mehidy Hasan Miraz will play for Galle Gallants, while Hasan Mahmud is expected to join Colombo Kaps after completing his commitment with Kent in England.

Bangladesh, already 2-0 down in the ODI series, will look to salvage pride in the inconsequential final match before beginning the three-match T20I series against the hosts.
