Tigresses lose to Ireland in final T20 WC warm-up

Bangladesh women fell to a 11-run defeat against Ireland women in their last warm-up match, ahead of the 2026 ICC Women's T20 World Cup, at Loughborough on Tuesday.

Invited to take first guard, Ireland posted a competitive total of 143/9 in their 20 overs.

Rebecca Stokell was the standout performer, scoring a valuable 30 runs from 26 balls.

Her innings included three boundaries and a six and helped Ireland build momentum in the middle overs.

Ava Canning then provided a late boost with an explosive knock of 21 off just eight deliveries.

She struck two huge sixes, alongside a four, and played a key role in pushing Ireland to a challenging total.

For Bangladesh, the bowlers worked hard to keep the scoring under control.

Sanjida Akter Meghla was among the brilliant performers with three wickets for 26 runs, while Marufa Akter picked up two wickets for 18 runs.

In reply, Bangladesh fought hard but finished on 132/6, falling short of their target.

Ireland's bowlers produced a disciplined performance to defend the total and secure the win.

The match was a positive result for Ireland ahead of the Women's T20 World Cup.
