The distribution of nomination forms has begun ahead of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Elections.

On the first day, 26 former cricketers and sports organisers from three categories collected nomination forms.

BCB officials said a total of 26 people have collected nomination forms - 12 from Category-1, 12 from Category-2 and two from Category-3.

However, no one has submitted the nomination form yet. It was learnt that the candidates interested in the election will submit the nomination form on Thursday. Each one has collected the nomination form by paying a non-refundable fee of Tk20,000.

Several other members of the current ad-hoc committee have also collected nominations from the same category. Apart from this, two or three members who resigned from Aminul Islam Bulbul's board have also picked up their nomination paper.

Nominations from Category-3 have been collected by experienced sports organiser and Chittagong University councillor Sirajuddin Mohammad Alamgir and former cricketer Shahriar Hossain Bidyut.

Among the district and divisional councillors in Category-1, former national team captain Minhajul Abedin Nannu and Laxmipur district councillor Moin Uddin Chowdhury have obtained nomination paper from Chattogram division, while Abdul Qayyum Chowdhury took his nomination paper from Sylhet division.
