Bashundhara Kings stand on the precipice of footballing history as they eye a second domestic treble in the rescheduled Federation Cup final against traditional giants Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited on Wednesday.

Following days of dramatic administrative gridlock that threatened to derail the showpiece event, the focus has firmly shifted to the pitch at the Kings Arena, with kick-off scheduled for 5:30pm.

For the Kings, victory would not only solidify their absolute dominance over the domestic landscape but also carve their names into the record books as the undisputed powerhouse of Bangladeshi football.

The path to this blockbuster finale has been marred by a fierce administrative tug-of-war, stemming from Mohammedan’s initial boycott of the venue following a blind lottery in April.

Tensions spiked when the Kings, frustrated by the ongoing uncertainty, requested the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) to call off the match entirely.

However, a late resolution saw the traditional powerhouse agree to take the field.

Opting to resolve the dispute through sporting merit rather than boardroom politics, Mohammedan's Director of Sports, Mostakur Rahman, confirmed their participation after football’s governing body in the country addressed their grievances.

"The BFF has accepted all our conditions," Mostakur stated. "Therefore, we are finally playing at the Kings Arena. We want to win the title by playing."

Despite the frantic and chaotic build-up, the Kings’ coach Bayazid Alam Zubair Nipu remains fiercely focused on the immense treble prize at stake.

Having already navigated a turbulent season to claim the Challenge Cup and the league title, Nipu’s side is fully aware of the monumental achievement within their grasp.

"The rule is to inform us at least 24 or 48 hours beforehand, and until 10pm last night, we did not know if the match would happen," Nipu explained, reflecting on the pre-match tension. "We are the only team alongside Sheikh Russel to have won a treble. If we win on Wednesday, it will be our second treble—a historic record. Every player wants to win this and present the third trophy to our officials."

The hosts will be bolstered by the return of key assets, including Rakib Hossain and left-back Rimon, ensuring they field a formidable, full-strength lineup on their familiar, international-standard turf.

Addressing Mohammedan's previous safety concerns regarding crowd hostility, Nipu offered absolute reassurance that the focus will remain strictly on the beautiful game.

"I assured the BFF on Monday that there would be no trouble," Nipu added. "This is the Federation Cup, not our home venue; it is the federation's responsibility. They have arranged heavy police security, and we will warn our supporters to avoid any chaos. They will celebrate, and we will see a spectacular match."

With the off-field drama finally put to bed, the stage is set for an unforgettable battle for ultimate domestic glory.
