Parvez Hossain Emon has been ruled out of the Pakistan Super League after suffering a shoulder injury, forcing Lahore Qalandars to release the Bangladesh batter from their squad on Saturday.

The left-handed batter, purchased for PKR60 lakh, is scheduled to return at night for Bangladesh, as his team will compete against Peshawar Zalmi that same day at 3pm.

The injury occurred during an on-field collision with Asif Ali in the match against Multan Sultans at the Gaddafi Stadium on 3 April.

MRI scans later confirmed a ligament tear in Emon’s shoulder. Medical staff advised a period of rest and rehabilitation over the coming weeks.

As a precaution, the 23-year-old missed the 9 April fixture against Islamabad United to avoid further aggravation. Following a detailed assessment, the franchise decided to release him, with a replacement to be announced in due course.

Despite his short stint, Emon made a strong impression. He featured in three matches, scoring 71 runs at a strike rate of 161.36, including a fluent 45 against Multan.

Emon will depart after the match against Zalmi. The Qalandars extended their full support and wished the wicketkeeper-batter a swift and complete recovery.
