Adam Zampa has bluntly explained his absence from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, revealing that he “pulled out” due to poor financial returns for his role, opting instead for the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Speaking on the ARY podcast, Zampa did not hold back. “To be brutally honest, for someone with my skillset, just don’t get the money that is there for other skillsets,” he said.
The Australian leg-spinner stressed that the IPL’s long commitment did not justify the reward. “For the amount of time that the IPL takes, it just didn’t seem like a reasonable choice for me to keep playing it,” he added.
Zampa, a veteran of multiple franchises including Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Rajasthan Royals, has struggled for consistent opportunities, featuring in just 22 matches across seasons.
Now turning out for Karachi Kings, he admitted the move came late. “I was going to have a break but PSL was on the radar a month ago — it all happened really quick,” he noted.
