Bangladesh archers ready for gold clash

Bangladesh’s compound men’s archery team is set to battle for the gold medal at the Asia Cup World Ranking Tournament (Stage-1) in Bangkok, Thailand.

By advancing to the final, the team has already guaranteed at least a silver medal, marking a significant achievement for Bangladesh archery on the continental stage.

In a gripping semi-final clash, the trio of Himu Bachhar, Aishwarzo Rahman, and Nawaz Ahmed Rakib edged past Bhutan, holding their nerve in a tense contest and demonstrating remarkable focus under pressure.

Their performance reflects both technical precision and mental resilience, qualities that have become the hallmark of Bangladesh’s compound squad in recent years.

The gold medal match is scheduled for Friday morning (Thai time) from 10:55am to 11:21am, where Bangladesh will face a formidable Vietnamese side that edged past India in a narrow semi-final victory.

Victory in Bangkok would not only elevate Bangladesh to the top of the podium but also build on the team’s silver medal finish at the 2021 Asia Cup in Guangzhou, signaling a sustained rise in the region’s compound archery landscape.
