Bangladesh’s compound men’s team surged into the final of the Asia Cup Archery in Bangkok, sealing at least a silver medal with a thrilling 232-228 victory over Bhutan in the semi-final.
The trio of Himu Bachhar, Aishwarzo Rahman and Nawaz Ahmed Rakib held their nerve in a tense contest to book a gold medal clash against Vietnam.
Bangladesh had earlier defeated Malaysia to reach the last four, continuing their impressive run in the competition.
This marks another significant achievement after their silver medal in the 2021 Asia Cup Leg One in Guangzhou, where they fell to South Korea in the final.
However, the women’s compound team narrowly missed out, losing 230-229 to Thailand in a heartbreakingly close contest.
The recurve men’s team also exited in the quarter-finals, suffering a 6-0 defeat against Kazakhstan despite earlier overcoming Vietnam.
