Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed hailed the team’s collective effort and a rare sporting wicket in Mirpur after the Tigers sealed the three-match series against Pakistan with a commanding display.
The right-arm quick, who bagged four wickets in the series-deciding clash, said the bowlers executed their plans perfectly from the very first delivery.
Speaking to T Sports, Taskin said his focus was clear before stepping onto the field.
“Every time I play an international match, only one thing remains in mind – that we must win and that I have a contribution behind that win,” he noted.
“Today was a series-deciding game. From ball one, I gave my 110%. I was able to bowl the right ball at the right time and Alhamdulillah I executed it.”
Taskin also emphasised how the sporting surface at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium allowed both batters and pacers to flourish.
“This time we did not play on the traditional Mirpur wicket,” he explained. “We played on a batting-friendly, sporting wicket. Fast bowlers performed, Tamim (Tanzid Hasan) scored his first hundred, Nahid Rana got five (in first match) and I bagged four (today).”
He added that playing on such balanced surfaces will only help Bangladesh grow stronger in international cricket.
